What is the current passion you are pursuing?

My passion is wrapped in music! I am a singer/ songwriter and love to create without limits or confinement. I call my music ‘feel it music’ because I want you to always have something you can feel. Music brings us together and to be able to create that moment in time whether it be 30 seconds or a whole album it means everything to me.

What sparked your drive to pursue these passions?

Growing up and listening to Stevie Wonder, The Gap Band, Lauryn Hill, and OutKast (just to name a few). Seeing how their music created moments in my family and brought us all together. The way that their sound and lyrics could paint a picture and make you feel connected without even knowing them…I knew that I wanted to create that and it was meant to be.

Can you describe an instance or a situation when you faced significant fear or doubt in your life in which you successfully came out on the other side?

I feel that fear and doubt are some things that I have to make up my mind daily to push out and say “no playa you don’t win today”. But the most recent situation that comes to mind was through the process of creating and releasing my 1st EP ‘Outlandish’. It was full of butterflies, stomach knots, and all of the other roller coaster of emotions that came with it. The thought of me sharing pieces of myself, rejection, and messing up made me feel like giving up. But I had to decide if I would let fear stunt my growth, or if I would walk though it scared and let this process strengthen me. Now that I look back I am so glad I didn’t let those funky thoughts cloud the vision I had and now every time I listen to my EP I am like wow, this is so much bigger than me. Gifts aren’t meant to be held captive.

What is your overall mindset/mantra in pursuing your passion despite fear or obstacles that come your way?

I always thought I had to be 100% fearless on this journey. But I’ve learned that the things that scare me the most are the things I should be pushing for even harder!

I also tell myself: Don’t let yourself or anyone else’s fears get in the way of what is meant to be. If you can see it, do it, move in silence, keep walking with love and it will all come together.

“Trust the process.”

I love to focus on the beauty of artistry while creating and truly have trust that each moment is growing me and preparing me for the next. I’m grateful for all of it.
